ELICA-ITALYMARINE is a 2K (two-component) self-cleaning acrylic copolymer finish, specifically designed to protect the propellers and running gear of motorboats by preventing the accumulation of marine vegetation, to eliminate friction and hydrodynamic resistance due to the encrustations caused by marine microorganisms themselves.
It is an innovative, easy-to-apply, long-lasting paint, highly effective in preventing corrosion of metal mechanical parts such as propellers, shafts, rudders, stern drives.
It has an exceptionally strong chemical and mechanical bond with the metal substrate making the non-stick surfaces very hard and smooth to which marine regrowth cannot adhere. The mobile surfaces are completely self-cleaning and are completely stripped of marine vegetation starting from 10 knots.
The coating can last over 4,000-5,000 hours of high-rpm engine operation without the need for re-coating.
Boats to which ELICA-ITALYMARINE is correctly applied can always sail at maximum speed while maintaining propeller efficiency and maximum performance at all times with a fuel reduction of up to 30%. The efficiency of the propeller alone stripped of marine vegetation increases by 12%
The durable anti-corrosion and self-cleaning properties of Elica-Italymarine prolong the life and efficiency of the propeller, allowing maintenance to be scheduled over longer periods of time up to 3-4 years.

ELICA-ITALYMARINE is a stable and durable (3-4 years) new generation foul-release coating that prevents the adhesion of marine growth due to low surface tension forming a very hard and ultra slippery surface. It does not contain copper compounds, TBT or other toxic substances that could cause environmental pollution
Usage
For correct use of ELICA® and to ensure its effectiveness and durability, a careful preparation of the metal surface substrate is mandatory.
- Sand the metal substrate with 180 to 220 grit and finish with 500 grit sandpaper.
- Clean the surface with solvent, or with a commercial product recommended for cleaning painted surfaces, carefully remove any residual dust with a clean, dry cloth.
- Mix the product with the catalyst in a mixing ratio of 30% by weight or volume (product density 0.97 kg/l).
- After mixing, remember to close the catalyst bottle and do not leave it exposed to the air.
- Apply the product with a panel or roller (the product can also be applied with a spray gun).
- Apply 2 coats of product, wet on wet, leaving an interval of 15-30 minutes between the first and second coat.
- Duration of the mixture: 90 minutes.
- Wait 24-48 hours before immersing in water.
IMPORTANT: ELICA® can be applied directly to metal surfaces and does not require the prior use of a base coat and/or primer

IMPORTANT:
ELICA® does not contain any of the following substances: Copper Oxide (CAS n. 1317-39-1); Copper Pyritone (CAS no. 14915-37-8) ; Tributyltin compounds (TBT) or other substances toxic to the marine environment.
Once the products have been mixed and polymerized, the dangerous chemical elements have reacted and remain bound and trapped inertly in a very hard protective layer bound to the metal substrate and cannot in any way disperse into the marine environment
